Ukrainian journalist Kisil dies in car accident in Poland

Prominent Ukrainian journalist Roman Kisil died in a car accident in Poland, as Ukrinform reported. The tragedy happened on January 10 in Iłża in Masovian Voivodeship. 

It is known that his 60-year-old mother died as well. Besides, his wife sustained serious injuries. She is in the intensive care unit in Radom hospital. There was a little baby in the car, who was hospitalized in a satisfactory condition.

The Head of Ukraine’s consular department in Poland is on her way to Radom.

For now, the police is defining the reasons for the car accident. According to the preliminary data, the tragedy happened as a result of a frontal collision of Toyota car, where the journalist’ family was, with Iveco truck. As police reported, both of the drivers were sober. The driver of the truck was not wounded.

Ukraine’s Embassy in Poland confirms information about a tragic car accident and the death of the journalist. The consular service expresses condolences to the relatives of Roman Kisil.
