The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine passed a resolution on material support for persons who served in military and some other persons. For these purposes, 194 million dollars of the state budget were allocated in July-December 2021. The relevant decision was made at a government meeting.

According to the document, from July 1, 2021, a monthly surcharge of 73 dollars is provided for former servicemen, senior officers and junior enlisted of the law enforcement agencies, police officers and other persons.

For these categories, the minimum pension payment will be 141 dollars, and for combatants - will increase to 143 dollars.

According to the Pension Fund, the implementation of this project in July-December 2021 will require additional expenditures from the state budget in the amount of 194 million dollars.

The explanatory note states that in June 2021, the payment period of part of the increased pension for 2016-2017 for senior officers and junior enlisted of the law enforcement agencies is coming to an end and for this category of pensioners there was no pension increase since 2016. It is also noted that after the recalculation of pensions for former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2018, their pensions were not indexed due to the absence of such mechanism, and the disparity in the amounts of pensions depending on the time of their appointment is over 70%.

The minimum pension benefits for servicemen are around 73 - 99 dollars.

Earlier, clashes broke out near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine between pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police. Activists were trying to storm the parliament, demanding the recalculation of pensions for veterans.

Former servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from many cities of Ukraine gathered near the Verkhovna Rada: Kropyvnytsky, Lviv, Nemyriv, etc. Veterans say they had to recalculate their pensions three years ago at the same time as for the police.
