Alina Gorlova's film "This Rain Will Never Stop" won the award for best documentary at the 66th Cork International Film Festival (Ireland).

Cork International Film Festival is a film festival held annually in Cork City, Ireland. It was established in 1956 as part of An Tóstal, and is one of Ireland's oldest and largest film festivals. The festival, which will continue until November 21, showcases the best new international and Irish feature, documentary and short films in cinemas and online.

‘This Rain Will Never Stop’ is a powerful and visually impressive journey of 20-year-old Andriy Suleyman and his family in the endless cycle of war and peace. The protagonist of the film, who moved with his father from Syria, is facing another military conflict in Ukraine, where he is a Red Cross volunteer. After his father's death, Andriy decides to bury his body in Syria.

Recently, the film was submitted to the lists of works for the main cultural award of Ukraine in 2022 - the Taras Shevchenko National Prize, the nominees of which will be announced in late 2021.

The movie will run in Ukrainian cinemas in spring 2022.

Earlier, ‘This Rain Will Never Stop’ won Grand Prix at Iceland Festival.
