Ukrainian film ‘Black level’ directed by Valentyn Vasyanovych won the Grand Prix at Festival International de Films de Fribourg (FIFF) that took place in Switzerland as the website of the film festival reported.
It is noted that the movie will get the monetary award in the sum of $31, 659. The jury of the festival noted the film for ‘the unique visual language, complicity of the cinematographic decision and uncompromising point of view of the movie director colored by humor and tenderness’.
The premiere of the movie took place last year at Odesa International Film Festival. The movie tells about the loneliness that lives in the big city. Kostia, the wedding photographer also lives there. Almost 50-year old hero understands that everything that he loved or tied to is gone forever.
Black level was nominated for Oscar award from Ukraine in the nomination ‘Best movie in foreign language’ but the movie did not get in the short-lists of the award.
