Ukrainian drama Blindfold wins at Warsaw Film Festival

Ukrainian sports drama film Blindfold directed by Taras Dron was awarded at the Warsaw Film Festival, where its world premiere took place.

According to Blindfold Facebook, the film won in the international competition program of debut films Competition 1-2. The picture was recognized the best among 15 other films presented in this category.

During the award ceremony in Warsaw, Taras Dron got the jury award and cash prize in the sum of 10,000 zloty.

The main role is played by young Ukrainian actress Maryna Koshkina known by films The Forgotten by Daria Onyshchenko and Zakhar Berkut by Akhtem Seitablayev.

The events take place in modern Ukraine after the end of the war. The main heroine is young MMA athlete Yulia who lost her groom at war. A woman gives up the sport and starts a new relationship to release herself from the role of the widow of the hero of war imposed by society.

As we reported the Earth is Blue as an Orange, the film by Ukrainian director Iryna Tsilyk entered the prestigious program Best of Fests, which is part of the IDFA, the biggest documentary film festival.
