The Ukrainian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) made a decision to stop the participation in the PACE session, excluding the issues of the authority of the Russian delegation, as MP Leonid Yemets reported on Facebook.
Moreover, the delegation appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand to consider urgently the issue of the stop of Ukraine’s participation in the work of the PACE. It also asks the president and Foreign Ministry to define the further participation of Ukraine in the bodies of the Council of Europe.
Earlier it was reported that the delegations of Ukraine and Georgia launched a complaints procedure in PACE over Russia’s return to the organization.
As it was reported, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution which changes the sanctions regime and allows Russia to return to work in the organization without limitations to the right to vote.
Moreover, British Prime Minister Theresa May supported the lifting of the sanctions pressure from Russia.
On the eve, the PACE refused to hold the urgent debates concerning the Russian issue.
