The Ukrainian border guards have enhanced the security of the administrative border with Crimea due to the explosion in Kerch as the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
"Due to the situation connected with the blast at the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Kerch, the officers of the State Border Guard Service assumed the number of measures to enhance the security at the administrative border. First of all, the measures concern the prevention of any provocations at the border with the occupied peninsula, provision of the security to the citizens crossing the border and personnel," the message said.
It is stated that the border guards will focus attention to the detection and prevention of the movement of the banned items. Thus, the highly-trained canine units were attracted to this.
"Moreover, the significant strengthening of the units and the military monitoring takes placer, as well as the interaction with the law enforcement bodies, is organized. The Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to monitor the situation," the message said.
As we reported an explosion thundered at a college in Kerch, the town in the Russian-occupied Crimea. It claimed lives of at least ten people; another fifty sustained injuries. According to the initial version, the explosion took place due to the gas leak; however, it became known that the building of the college was not connected to the gas supply.
Later it was reported that the number of casualties increased up to 18 people.
Russia's Investigative Committee opened a criminal proceeding due to Crimean blast upon the article on the terrorist action; however, later it reclassified it to the mass murder.
A crime was committed by a 18-year-old student of the college, later he shot himself.
