A 23-year-old Sergeant of Border Troops Yevhen Kolisnyk, who was previously reported missing, was found dead wita h gunshot wound. The adviser to the State Border Service Head, Oleh Slobodian, stated this on his Facebook page.

"As a result of a few-hour search, the Border Guard inspector was found without signs of life, with a gunshot wound a few kilometers from the place of his service," he noted.

The State Border Service officials suggest that the sergeant could commit suicide because of family troubles.

The National Police in Odesa region opened a criminal case on his death. “The State Border Service is also conducting an internal investigation into the incident. His colleagues from the ministry express condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” concluded Slobodyan.

We remind, earlier in the police of the Odesa region announced the search for a 23-year-old sergeant-contractor of border troops Yevhen Kolisnyk, who, according to their information, this morning, has been on a duty on the border with Moldova at the Slovyanoserbka village, Velyka Mykhailivka District. He came out of the dugout in order to call someone and disappeared in an unknown direction.

Policeman stressed that the border guard had an AKS-74 rifle with him, 120 rounds of ammunition for it and special equipment.
