Ukrainian army to receive over 300 units of equipment, - Defence Minister

Ukrainian army might get more than 200 units of equipment till the end of the martial law (December 26, - ed.), as Stepan Poltorak, Defence Minister of Ukraine, said on air of one of the TV channels.

“Over the past two weeks, the army received more than 100 units of equipment. We plan to receive more than 200 units of equipment till the end of the martial law,” Poltorak said.

The Defence Minister stressed that over the past four years, Ukraine has done everything possible to restore the fighting capacity of the fleet.

“Over the past four years, we have increased our capacities, but we had some losses in the navy in Crimea. We have done everything possible to restore the operational effectiveness of the fleet, we are working on that,” the Minister promised and explained why the leadership of the country imposed martial law:

Martial law is introduced for two main reasons. The first one is aggression against Ukraine. The second one is the threat of an open aggression. We had both: Russian aggression against Ukraine’s Navy in Kerch Strait and the presence of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine”.
