Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB), which is part of the Ukroboronprom concern, passed the Ukrainian Army the first BTR-4 armored personnel carriers manufactured from new domestically-made steel. The press office of Ukroboronprom reported this on Monday.
It is noted that the APC's hull is made at Lozova forging and mechanical plant. Currently, almost 40 units are in production.
In 2018, production cooperation was established for the production of armor sets and their further welding at Malyshev Factory, as well as at Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (KMDB) and Kyiv Armored Plant.
Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko claimed that Ukraine started building the first hull for BTR-4.
As it was reported earlier, Kyiv Armored Plant gave a batch of BTR-3DA to the National Guard of Ukraine. The armored personnel carrier is equipped with Storm-M module equipped with 3TM-1 30mm automatic cannon, which has a fire rate of 330 shots per minute.
Prior to this, the enterprise manufactured more than 50 new BTR-3 for Ukrainian servicemen; about 140 armored vehicles and other heavy weaponry were repaired.
