The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with the head of Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 25. This was reported by the press service of the department.
"The sides discussed activation of bilateral cooperation in trade and economics, humanitarian involvement of Switzerland in Ukraine, as well as cooperation within international organizations, in particular the Council of Europe. We expressed gratitude to Swtzerland for the support of Ukrainian initiatives on Crimea and voiced expectation for their support in the future," the press service noted.
Also, Klimkin invited his Swiss counterpart to visit Ukraine.
During the meeting an agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Federal Council of Switzerland on the paid work of persons accompanying employees of diplomatic missions, consular offices and permanent missions to an international organization.
The World Economic Forum takes place this year within the topic ‘Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World’. Davos will accept 2,500 guests from more than 100 countries of the world: representatives from business, political leaders, heads of the international organization, journalists and representatives of the civil society.
