The Ukrainian anchorman Serhiy Prytula will run for elections in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the list of the party Holos chaired by the musician Sviatoslav Vakarchuk. Prytula said this in his video message on Facebook.
“If I was pleased with the things happening in Ukrainian politics lately and now, even more, I would probably have not been doing this. Leaving your comfort zone is not very pleasant, but I would like to but useful to this country and its people,” Prytula said.
Prytula pointed out that he would run for elections, as he had “a certain vote of confidence”.
“I feel quite financially independent in order to ensure that my coming to parliament is not an attempt to earn money," the anchorman stressed.
According to Prytula, there are no former MPs, lobbyists or oligarchs in the list of the Holos party.
“There was a place for volunteers, public figures and human resources officers. For the first time in nearly 38 years, I am ready to put my reputation at a stake. With this team, I am sure that my vision of the country's development can be realized”, he assured.
Prytula outlined that he was not a “wedding general” and convinced Vakarchuk to include to the party some majoritarian candidates.
“Svyatoslav asked me to be in the first ten, but I asked him to put me under the number 30”, - he said.
The anchorman explained that for his entering the parliament, the party should score a little more than 10%.
"This is my agreement with you, I do not mind, but I mean that everyone who called me to go to parliament should come and vote. Believe me, you will not be ashamed of me in the parliament," Prytula concluded.
As we reported earlier, leader of the political party Golos Svyatoslav Vakarchuk will be number one on the list of this political force in the elections of the Verkhovna Rada.
The leader of the political party Golos assured that no old figures will be included to the list.
