The officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed the attempts of the Russian special services to destabilize the inner situation in Ukraine and influence the process and preparation to the snap elections as the SBU reported.
Since the beginning of the year, a citizen of Dnipro created and held the administration of the societies in banned Russian social networks on the assignment of the representative of the Russian special services. A woman published and posted the articles, which justified the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine and the policy of Kremlin at the international stage, illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula, popularized the terrorist organizations of occupied Donbas - all this for a reward.
A woman got the publication from the Russian propaganda resources and websites of the militants of the self-styled republics.
After the announcement of snap elections, the administrator got another assignment from Rostov-on-Don: create the websites with fake information on political parties and candidates. Moreover, she spread public urges for forcible change of the constitutional order and capture of the state authority.
“These destructive materials aimed for the destabilization of the inner situation in Ukraine and growth of the social tension, the inspiration of hatred between the supporters of different political forces and manipulative influence on the electoral preferences,” the SBU added.
The criminal proceeding was opened and the house of the perpetrator was searched.
The computer equipment and means of communication with evidence of her criminal actvity were confiscated during the investigative actions.
The pretrial investigation continues.
Earlier the SBU held an operation in a hacker’s world. Over the past decade, there were only a few such large-scale operations.
