Ukraine's Security Service to investigate car accident with 13-year-old bicyclist

The Chief Department of the Security Service of Ukraine to Kyiv will investigate the car accident when the police car ran over the 13-year-old bicyclist on May 31. The prosecutor's office will only execute the procedural control over the case as its press service reported.

The case is opened due to the violation of the road safety rules.

'At the moment, the first order investigative actions take place: we have filed the assignment to the Interior Ministry toward the holding of the internal investigation due to the mentioned event, the appeals on the appointment and holding of the expert studies are prepared and due to them the procedural decision due to the further actions will be made', the prosecutor's office reported.

As we reported on May 31 the road accident in Kyiv took place; 13-year-old bicyclist suffered severe injuries after the police car ran over him. The accident took place at about 9 p.m., with Volkswagen running over a boy who was driving the bicycle. The kid sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The crowd encircled the car, trying to get the driver out of there; however, 'the police took him for a medical examination to check the alcohol level in his blood', the reporter said.

The criminal investigation on the road traffic violation commenced.
