The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) suspects the commander of one of the units of the National Guard of transferring information in the field of defense of our state to the special services of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the SBU press service.

Ukrainian military was recruited in 2019 by the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. On the instructions of the curators, he collected information on the provision of military assistance by international partners to the units of the National Guard and the activities of foreign instructors. Also, Russian intelligence was interested in the layout of Ukrainian military facilities.

He could face imprisonment for a term of 12 - 15 years with or without confiscation of property.

It should be noted that during 2014-2019, 20 people were convicted of state treason in Ukraine. The materials of criminal proceedings against 77 people were closed.

As we reported earlier, the cyber specialist of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) blocked the activity of the powerful bot-farm used by Russia for the spread of destructive information.

The employees of the special service determined that for influence on election sentiments of the Ukrainians, the curators, before the elections, spread false information through the internet, aiming for incitement to ethnic hatred and propaganda of separatism.
