The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened the criminal proceedings against six companies, which did not supply protective means for medics after payment or purchased low-quality goods as the Office of the President of Ukraine reported.

“The Security Service of Ukraine reported that the criminal proceedings were opened against six unscrupulous companies-partaker of the procurements, which did not supply the goods after payment, showed low quality and so on,” the message said.

In his turn, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that he will personally control the procurements of the individual protective means held by the Health Ministry.

Besides, the President underlined that the hospitals are not provided with necessary equipment in the sufficient amount.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal stated that the government set a task to provide a three-months supply of the protective means for medics. The suppliers who can provide the means soon will be in priority, he said.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky called on the government to expedite the purchase of medical masks and personal protective equipment. He stated this at a traditional meeting on prevention of the spread of Covid-19, attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and law enforcement agencies.
