The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) holds an inspecion of 1+1 TV channel to determine who influences the information policy of TV channel as RBK-Ukraine reported citing Adviser of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podolyak.
Podolyak stated that 1+1 TV channel ‘is playing politics’; however, it is considered normal for the competitive media sphere.
“The comprehensive inspection of 1+1 TV channel is held, including by the SBU due to the obligatory disclosure of main beneficiaries of TV broadcasters. They should check who is the beneficiary; what influence on the management is observed; the influence on the information policy with a particular stock of shares,” Podolyak said.
He also added that he observed the problem in 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZiK TV channels.
On February 2, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on sanctions against 112 Ukraine, NewsONE and ZiK TV channels. By this decree, he enforced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions on the cancellation of the broadcasting licenses of the TV channels belonging to Taras Kozak (112 Ukraine, NewsOne, ZIK). According to the decree that is eligible since the moment of signature, the TV channels faced sanctions that will be active for five years. These sanctions make the broadcasting impossible.
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine demands to close YouTube pages of 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK TV channels.
