During quarantine, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed 79 people who spread fake information about coronavirus Covid-19, as the SBU reported.

“During the action of quarantine, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed 79 people who spread fakes about coronavirus; four of them are internet - agitators who acted by order of the Russian side,” the message said.

Thus, the specialists of the Department of counterintelligence protection of interests of the state in the information security sphere exposed the activity of cyber-activists from Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, and Kherson.

Besides, the SBU cyber-specialists blocked over 1,000 internet societies with over 500,000 subscribers for the spread of fake content.

The investigation is held within the criminal proceedings opened due to the attack on the territorial integrity and inviolacy of Ukraine.

Another 28 people face administrative responsibility for the spread of false allegations, which may cause panic among the population or violation of the public order.

Earlier, the EU reported that Russian media hold a disinformation campaign against the West amid the Covid-19 pandemic to spread panic and disrupt.
