Ukraine’s Sanitary Doctor reveals categories of citizens who receive Pfizer vaccine first

Pfizer vaccine will be used for the vaccination of the citizens who stay at retirement homes and their employees, workers of the State Emergency Service and border guards as Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko reported.

The vaccination will start on April 18 in the Kyiv region. From April 19, it will be held all over Ukraine. 1,170 doses of the vaccine will be distributed to each region and Kyiv. Besides, solutions for dilution, syringes and boxes for safe utilization of the medical waste will be distributed.

“First of all, citizens at retirement homes and their employees will be vaccinated with it. Then – employees of the State Emergency Service and border guards,” Lyashko said.

Today, Ukraine has received the first batch of Pfizer vaccine; the cargo includes 117,000 doses.

As we reported, the vaccination process of the population against coronavirus with Chinese CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech starts in Ukraine today, on April 13. The Health Minister noted that the CoronaVac vaccine will be used for the vaccination of particular groups of population: police officers, people with limited mobility (people with disabilities) who cannot come to the vaccination center and their guardians, the Olympians and Paralympians and teachers who participate in the external independent evaluation.
