Ukraine's representative to Trilateral Contact Group tells about negotiations

The work of the Trilateral Contact Group on peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine provides direct talks between Ukraine and Russia with the moderation of OSCE, the representatives of the separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions are being involved if needed, as Ukraine’s representative to the group, Yevgen Marchuk said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“Many don’t know, so I will say some words. The negotiations begin – Russian, Ukrainian representatives and OSCE moderator. That’s it. This way the talks are sincerer,” Marchuk said.

He explained that when the process of the negotiations on such level is exhausted, the representative of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics are being involved.

“To make it more clear, the Trilateral Contact Group - it is Ukraine, Russia and OSCE, and the rest are invited is there is a problem,” Marchuk told.

As it was reported, Russia’s delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group left the room when the conversation was about the Ukrainian sailors.
