Ukraine’s Prosecution agrees to extradite a fraud suspect upon US request

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine granted the US request on extraditing Vladyslav Halupsky, who is a fraud suspect, as General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko wrote on Facebook.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine endorsed a request made by the USA to extradite Vladyslav Halupsky, who is sought for committing a range of crimes, including securities fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering of about $30 million,” he wrote.

Halupsky was detained in February 2017, in Odesa, and starting April 4, based on a decision of Malynovsky court of Odesa, he is under home arrest.

Novoye vremia writes that in 2016 the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York accused Halupsky and his accomplices of conspiracy for fraud using electronic media, fraud with securities, and illegal intrusion into PR Newswire, Маrketwired networks for money laundering. An order for his arrest was issued in October.
