The extraordinary plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during which the issue of the imposing of the military law, will take place on November 26, at 16:00, as the press service of the parliament reported, citing speaker Andriy Parubiy.
“Pursuant to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and appeal of the President of Ukraine, on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 16:00, I announce holding the extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” the message said.
The speaker did not specify the regime (opened or closed), the session will take place. However, the press service of the President of Ukraine reported that the MPs will consider the imposing of the military law in the closed session.
All actions of the Russian aggressor, which were committed against the Ukrainian ships at Kerch Strait, are the violation of the norms of the UN Charter and UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, Parubiy reported on Facebook.
“The whole world saw the evidence of the Russian military aggression, and no one would be able to argue with this. The whole world saw the video where the Russian military vessels attack Ukrainian ones. Obviously, that the front of the Russian aggression was extended and it reaches the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov,” Parubiy wrote.
As it was reported earlier, the coast guard ships of the Russian Navy acted aggressively against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, which have been carrying out a scheduled transition from Odesa port to Mariupol port in the Sea of Azov.
Russian authorities said that three Ukrainian warships in the Sea of Azov illegally entered the territorial waters of the Russian Federation and headed to the Kerch Strait.
The boats of the Russian Border Guard Service opened fire against the ship group of the Ukrainian Navy, which was moving towards the exit from the Kerch Strait.
Given the tough situation in the area of Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, President Petro Poroshenko supported the offer of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council; it stipulates that the Ukrainian Parliament should consider the option to impose the martial law in Ukraine.
