Spokesperson of Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy initiated the questioning. Today he arrived at the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to meet with the prosecutor, responsible for the case under the suspicion of misuse of public funds. The press secretary of the spokesperson of the parliament Andriy Kovaliov posted on Facebook.
“The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has initiated immediately questioning concerning this criminal proceeding today. He arrived at the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Bureau, who is responsible for the case”, the report said.
Besides, Kovaliov added that during the questioning, it was found out that this case was opened under the claim of a former employee from the staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to the report, the claim has nothing to do with the spokesperson of parliament Andriy Parubiy.
“The suspended employee from the staff of the Verkhovna Rada claimed that the department of the Verkhovna Rada, which was founded in 2002, was formed illegally. I emphasize: it is about 2002. Andriy Parubiy has no relations to forming of any departments of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, including in 2002,” he clarified.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) opened a criminal proceeding against the Spokesperson of Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy under the suspicion of misuse of public funds.
