Ukraine’s parliament refuses to dismiss PM Groysman, government

The Verkhovna Rada rejects the draft regulation on the resignation of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman #10341, as 112 Ukraine reported.

Earlier, the representatives of Petro Poroshenko Bloc stated that they would not support the resignation of the prime minister.

Ukraine’s PM Groysman wrote the resignation letter, dated May 20. He said he would resign on Wednesday, May 22. Groysman headed Ukraine’s Government since April 14, 2016.

Besides, Oleksandr Turchynov, the National Security and Defense Secretary officially resigned on May 17Oleksandr Turchynov held the post since December 2014. Before he worked in the Verkhovna Rada, he was Acting President of Ukraine in spring, 2014.

As we reported that Zelensky submitted the draft law on impeachment to the consideration. Later it was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.

The bills on impeachment and on the lifting of parliamentary immunity are prepared, as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ruslan Ryaboshapka stated.
