Ukraine’s parliament extends law on Donbas status for another year

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the bill, which extends the special order of the local self-government in particular areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for another year as 112 Ukraine reported.

The bill #2569 “On amendment of the Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On special order of the local self-government in particular areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions” dated December 10, 2019, was supported by 320 MPs. The representative of Holos, Batkivshchyna factions refrained from voting.

On December 10, Ukrainian lawmakers registered the draft law on the special status of Donbas.

Earlier presidential assistant Andriy Yermak stated that in case of the successful holding of the Normandy Four summit, Volodymyr Zelensky plans to submit the bill on the extension of the special status of the local self-government in uncontrolled part of Donbas.
