The ground for the dismissal of Babak is her persona desire.
"This application is written by me on personal desire because it is necessary and important at this moment. It is my personal decision. I ask not to speculate on it. What does it mean that the system puts pressure on me? The system does not put pressure on me because the system of law enforcement bodies protects me. It is not the issue," Babak said.
She noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenksy ‘personally controls this whole system and due to it, the law enforcement bodies study the cases’.
On January 16, the number of mass media reported about the possible resignation of Alyona Babak.
The Committee on State Governance Organization supported the resignation of Babak.
Denys Shmyhal, the Chair of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, is the candidate for the post of Babak.
Babak started to work in the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk since the end of August 2019.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Roman Truba from the post of the Director of the State Investigation Bureau (SIB). Iryna Venediktova became the Acting Director of the State Investigation Bureau.
