The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Iryna Vereshchuk as the new Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. 260 MPs supported the decision.

"I provide the submission on the appointment of Iryna A. Vereshchuk as Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine,” PM Denys Shmygal noted.

Iryna Vereshchuk replaced Oleksiy Reznikov at this position, as he was appointed as new Defense Minister.

Vereshchuk became an MP of the IX convocation on the list of the Servant of the People party (No. 29 in the list). From September 4, 2019 to November 15, 2019, she served as a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada.

Vereshchuk is a member of the Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, head of the Subcommittee on State Security and Defense.

From June to October 2010, Vereshchuk was deputy chairman of the Zhovkva Regional State Administration in the Lviv region, and from 2010 to 2015 served as a mayor of Rava- Ruska.
