Andriy Zagorodniuk has become Ukraine’s new Minister of Defense in the Cabinet, headed by Oleksiy Honcharuk. Zahorodniuk came to replace Stepan Poltorak, who has been leading the ministry since October 2014.

Bio of Andriy Zagorodniuk
Andriy Zahorodniuk runs Discovery Drilling Equipment. In early July, he was appointed an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, and then - a member of the supervisory board of the Ukroboronprom concern.
In 2015-2017 Zahorodniuk headed the Reform Project Office under the Ministry of Defense.
He studied at the Kyiv National University named after Shevchenko, Warwick University, and Oxford University.
Zahorodniuk has over 16 years of experience in senior positions in the mining and manufacturing industries.
Since 2019, the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine has been adopted as a civilian office.
