President Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that relations between Ukraine and NATO, including the provision of a Membership Action Plan, are not issues for discussion with Russia.Zelensky said this on the VIP with Natalia Moseichuk program, the press service of the head of state reports.
"I believe that the MAP is not a matter of communication between Ukraine and Russia. This is our communication with the alliance countries" Zelensky stressed.
In his opinion, the issue of Ukraine's progress on the path to NATO membership for many years was mainly political, not security.
Meanwhile, foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba demands new NATO-Ukraine cooperation in the Black Sea. The minister made the corresponding statement on Twitter after the Russian military opened warning fire on the course of the British HMS Defender near the coast of the annexed Crimea.
"A clear proof of the Ukrainian position: the aggressive and provocative policy of the Russian Federation in the Black and Azov Seas, the occupation and militarization of Crimea constitute a constant threat to Ukraine and its allies. That is why I emphasize that a qualitatively new interaction between NATO and Ukraine in the Black Sea is needed," Kuleba wrote.
