In the territory of Ukraine, the transnational group of human traffickers recruited Ukrainians for the transfer of illegal migrants from the countries of South-West Asia to Europe. Over 200 Ukrainians were recruited in five years, as the National Police reported.
“The National Police exposed the transnational criminal group of human traffickers,” the message said
Thus, law enforcers exposed five members of the transnational organized group who held human trafficking. The persons of interest are the citizens of the Odesa region and Crimea who, starting since 2015, recruited the Ukrainians and transferred them to Turkey. They were passed to the local accomplices. During five years, they recruited over 200 Ukrainians.
The police officers established that they received up to $3,000 per each trafficked Ukrainian.
It is noted that the recruited people were involved in the criminal activity tied with the smuggling of migrants. The suffered had to illegally transfer migrants from the countries of South-West Asia to Europe. The criminals concealed the fact of the presence of the stringent criminal responsibility for the transfer of illegal migrants in the countries where they were transferred.
Five persons of interest were notified on suspicion in the human trafficking and organization of illegal transfer of people through the state border of Ukraine. They face up to 15 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of property.
