Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky with his victory in the presidential elections and Ukraine with the democratic choice. Klimkin posted this on Twitter.
“Congratulations to Ukraine with the democratic choice and to Volodymyr Zelensky – with his victory,” the report said.
Klimkin added to his post the fragment of the legendary cartoon Once there was a dog.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that he would everything to secure the foreign policy during the period of change of power.
Klimkin added that he would inform about his plans later. “I will even release a video message in order to keep up-to-date.”
According to the National exit poll, Volodymyr Zelensky has 73,2%, while Petro Poroshenko gets 25,3%.
The second round of the elections of the President of Ukraine kicked off in Ukraine on April 21, at 8 a.m. Ukraine’s polling stations opened as scheduled across the country with some minor delays, which were quickly addressed. The voting traditionally lasted for 12 hours; the polls closed at 8 p.m.
