Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry voiced protest against the sentence for Crimean Tatar Ruslan Zeitullayev, set by the Russian military court. This was announced by the speaker of the diplomatic institution Mariana Betsa.
“We express strong protest to the Russian side in connection with the shameful verdict for Zeitullaev,” she wrote.
Also, Foreign Ministry notes that the court decision was is based on trumped-up charges and demands to release Zeitullaev. The ministry calls on its partners to increase diplomatic pressure on Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that the court of Rostov-on-Don in Russia sentenced Crimean Tatar to 12 years of imprisonment. He is accused of terrorism and organizing the cell of Islamic organization Hizb-Ut Tahrir forbidden in Russia.
