The medical system in Ukraine is ready for the third wave of coronavirus pandemic. Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during a government meeting.

The prime minister noted that the third wave of coronavirus has begun in Ukraine, which means that the number of Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations is growing.

"The medical system is ready for the third wave, since the process of its strengthening has not stopped since the beginning of the pandemic. We have ensured the maximum possible number of hospital beds with oxygen supply. Their total number is more than 66,000, and this is one of the highest rates in Europe," Shmyhal said.

Shmyhal also called on local authorities to observe discipline and take a responsible approach to organizing anti-epidemic measures.

Meanwhile, the overall number of people vaccinated from coronavirus in Ukraine reached 23,480. During the last 24 hours, 4,362 patients received their first dose of vaccine in this country. Coronavirus-info Telegram channel reported that on Wednesday morning.

The largest number of newly vaccinated people is observed in Donetsk region (660).
