The State Investigation Bureau (SIB) has exposed the illicit activity of officials of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine during the purchase of the lung ventilator for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as the SIB reported.

It is reported that in May 2020, the Command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Force of Ukraine purchased lung ventilators for 11 million of hryvnias ($395,076). However, their assembly and specifications do not meet the medical and technical requirements of the tender documents and it is impossible to use them.

“On January 16, 2020, the SIB investigators held searches at the working place and residence place of the persons of interest in the territory of Kyiv, during which the electronic storage media, mobile phones and other documents that confirm the illicit activity,” the SIB noted.
