Ukraine’s main Christmas tree on Sophia Square in Kyiv will be decorated in the form of a traditional vertep. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.
"The main festive location on Sophia Square this year will be dedicated to the Christmas night miracle. The base of the Christmas tree will be decorated in the form of a traditional vertep," the statement said.
It is noted that the main Christmas tree of the country on Sophia Square will be traditionally lit on December 19. The Christmas tree will be decorated with 10,000 ornaments - red and gold toys. The 31-meter-high tree will shine with a 10-kilometer garland of warm light in the form of a large dome.
A skating rink will be set up around the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Monument. Four festively decorated arches will lead to the fairgrounds, with four chandeliers in the center of each.
A warm art recreation area will be placed on the square. There, visitors will be greeted by bright comets, which will symbolize the Christmas stars. Christmas music will create a festive atmosphere.
Until January 16, the New Year and Christmas fair town will be open on Sophia Square and Volodymyrsky Passage.
Earlier it was reported that 14 New Year's locations for Kyivites and guests will open in Kyiv on December 16. Installation of festive locations on Sophia and Kontraktova Squares will begin soon. All streets and squares will be decorated, and a Christmas tree will appear in every district of the capital.
