Interior Minister Arsen Avakov believes that Ukraine is better than Poland when comparing the two countries. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said this on the air of the talk show Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) of Savik Shuster.
"Let the Poles forgive me, but I think that Ukraine is better than Poland. And there is no Europe without Ukraine. And if someone else does not understand this, that there can be a happy Europe with an unhappy Ukraine, it will not be so," the minister said.
According to him, Ukrainians, in turn, must respect themselves enough to move towards European standards.
As we reported earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau called on Russia to take steps towards restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine
"For 7 years Crimea and Donbas have remained under Russian occupation. Poland stands by the victims and urges Russia to comply with international law, to restore territorial integrity of Ukraine," Rau wrote.
He also believes that the Russian Federation should compensate for human rights abuses on the occupied territories.
