Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are checking information on 12 cases of coronavirus infection in the occupied territory of Donbas. Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated this at the government meeting.
"We now have preliminary information about 12 cases of coronavirus in Horlivka," he said.
Earlier, in connection with the spread in cases of ARD diseases in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, caused probably by the coronavirus, the Commander of Joint Forces temporarily restricted the crossing of the checkpoint from March 7.
According to Avakov, it is proposed to restrict entry into the territory controlled by Ukraine from the territory of occupied Donbas, but the final decision has to be made upon the results of today's meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
"We propose a 100% restriction regime for foreign citizens, and we propose to allow in the citizens of Ukraine who have registration in the unoccupied territory," the Interior Minister said.
He also specified that if a citizen of Ukraine has a registration in the occupied Horlivka and lives there, then he cannot be allowed to the territory under the control of the authorities.
It was also reported that Russia had decided to send Ukrainian with coronavirus symptoms to Donbas. The man is a citizen of Ukraine, who lives in the occupied territory and illegally possesses a Russian passport. JFO headquarters noted that this case indicates that Russia is not ready to take control of the situation even in its territory if the epidemiological situation worsens.
Viktor Lyashko, the Deputy Healthcare Minister of Ukraine said that body temperature screening continued on border checkpoints in Ukraine; over 1.6 million people have been tested so far.
