A number of solemn, cultural and sports events will take place in the capital on the occasion of the Day of the National Flag and the 29th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The relevant plan is published on the website of the Kyiv City State Administration.
From August 20 to September 4, a photo exhibition dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine "My Ukraine" will be open at the National Historical and Architectural Museum Kyiv Fortress.
From August 20 to 25 in the National Sanctuary "Sophia of Kyiv" will be the International Multidisciplinary Non-Profit and Socially Oriented Festival of High Art Bouquet Kyiv Stage.
On August 23, everyone will be able to visit the creative festival "With Ukraine in Heart" in Taras Shevchenko Park.
On August 24, there will be a video tour "Ukraine, I need you" in the Kyiv Central Library for Children named after Shevchenko.
On August 24 there will be a sailing regatta "Independence Day" - a competition among cruising and racing yachts (Sobache Hyrlo Gulf (Google) and the yacht club Riviera Riverside Marina).
The exhibition-reflection "Ukraine: the Way to the Future" will last until August 30 in the city specialized youth library Moloda Gvardiya.
An exhibition project dedicated to the Day of the Heavenly Hundred "Century of Unbreakable" will be held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti from August 21 to November 20.
On August 23, solemn ceremonies of raising the National Flag of Ukraine will be held near the building of the Kyiv City Council (36 Khreschatyk Street) and in the districts of the city.
Prayers for Ukraine and the Ukrainians will be held on August 24. Also, on August 24 flowers will be laid in the districts of the city to monuments, memorials and burial places of prominent figures of Ukraine, fighters for Ukraine's independence in the twentieth century, fallen participants of the Revolution of Dignity, anti-terrorist operation and participants in national security and defense.
Traditionally, on the occasion of the holiday, the central part of the capital will be decorated with festive illumination.
It is also noted that on August 23-24 it is possible to temporarily restrict the movement of traffic during the preparation and holding of festive events in the central part of the city.
