Ukraine's Government creates Izmail Maritime Border Guard base

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine created a budget institution Izmail Maritime Border Guard base of Ukraine’s Border Guard Service. The relevant decision was made during the Government’s session on Wednesday, February 20, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“The base was created to counter threats in border security, to increase the effectiveness of task implementations, to control the presence of the Ukrainian and foreign non-military vessels in the Ukrainian part of Dunay river,” the message says.

Besides, the base was created to enhance struggle against smuggling and to increase the effectiveness of reaction to the changing environment during the implementation of the tasks on state border security.
