Ukraine’s government approves 4G license sale for over $244 million

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, this will bring additional income to the budget

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Minister decided at the session Wednesday to launch the sale procedure of 4G licenses for 1800 and 2600 MHz with a starting price of around 245 million dollars.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the tender for license sale will be as transparent as possible and its results in perspective will bring new technologies to the country and income to the budget.

“We expect that public sale will attract funds to the budget, but most importantly, a modern infrastructure will be created to help develop national economics. I want to personally thank First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv. You have worked on the transparency and quality of necessary solutions,” Groysman said.

As it was reported earlier starting price for 4G license in Ukraine is 2,4 million USD, according to the head of National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCR) Oleksandr Zhvotovsky. The commission told that the operating telephone company confirmed their ability to transmit frequency of 2600 MHz range.
