Ukraine’s Government decided to announce a competition for the post of the Chairman of Naftogaz Board of Directors on March 23. The relevant decision was made at today’s session of the Government, as 112.ua reported.
“March 22, the contract of the Chairman of the Directory Board of Naftogaz Ukraine expires, which means that we have to take relevant decisions in terms of a proper quality of corporate governance, transparency, publicity, the effectiveness of governance of state-owned companies. Therefore, following the principles of effective corporate governance, we decide to announce a public competition on March 23, according to the principles of good corporate governance, in compliance with the Government’s decree No. 777, which provides a transparent public competition with the participation of our international partners. We announce a competition for the post of the chairman of Naftogaz Board of Directors,” Ukraine’s PM Volodymyr Groysman stated.
Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers will appeal to the Supervisory Board for the proposals concerning the contract terms.
Therefore, the Government has not prolonged contract with the current Chairman of Naftogaz Board of Directors Andriy Kobolev.
As it was reported, Naftogaz prolongs a two-million contract with Kobolyev.
In addition, Hague Tribunal made a positive decision in the case Naftogaz against Russia for lost assets as a result of Crimea’s annexation.
