Ukraine’s government allocates extra $15 million for purchase of oxygen stations

The relevant ministries were instructed to organize the coordination of the procurement of oxygen stations as a result of the conference call. The government has allocated an additional 400 million of hryvnias ($15,210,380.00) for these needs as the Governmental portal reported.

According to the Ministry of Health, two plants for the production of oxygen resumed operations last week, which were carrying out routine maintenance. Thanks to this, an additional 140 tons of liquid oxygen is included in the oxygen supply system.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that oxygen consumption has increased significantly recently, so the ministry is working to attract other factories that are ready to supply it.

As we reported, due to the fact that two major Ukrainian plants stopped producing medical oxygen, the government decided to purchase the oxygen supplies from Poland.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there is enough oxygen in the Ukrainian hospitals.
