Ukraine's Foreign Ministry confirms detention of six Ukrainians in Georgia

The Department of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry consular service confirmed the detention of six Ukrainians in Tbilisi, Georgia. They already have lawyers, as Interfax-Ukraine reported referring to the official representative of the consulate service Vasyl Kyrylych.

“Tbilisi police department confirmed detention of six Ukrainians. They have lawyers,” Kyrylych said.

He added that according to the department of Tbilisi police, the rights of the detainees would not be violated.

“The consul has meetings with the representatives of the Georgian Internal Ministry on this,” the diplomat said.

As we reported earlier, seven citizens of Ukraine were arrested in Alliance Hotel in Tbilisi

It is stated that former Georgian serviceman who fought in Ukrainian battalion ‘Donbas’ Luka Chkhetia is among the detainees. His father Sergo Chkhetia told reporters that his son was going to take part in protest action scheduled for December 2 in Tbilisi.
