Russian and Ukrainian passports

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine expressed the strong protest due to the order of the Russian president, which opens the illegal issuance of the Russian passports to the citizens of occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as the ministry reported.

“We think that this document is legally negligible, and it will not change the belonging of the citizens of the territories of Donbas occupied by Russia to the Ukrainian citizenship,” the message said.

The Foreign Ministry called it fragrant interference in internal affairs.

“Russia has made a deliberate step once more, thus violating the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, aiming for the destruction of the Minsk Agreements, while it is a side of them. Such actions are fragrant interference in the internal affairs and continuation of the Russian attempts of the creeping annexation of Ukrainian Donbas. They aim to destabilize the inner political situation in Ukraine after elections, show the intention of Russia to continue the aggression and demonstrate the absence of the interest in any de-escalation,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
