Ukraine’s Foreign Minister invited to EU Foreign Affairs Council

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that EU Minister for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell has invited him to the meeting of the Council of the Foreign Ministers of the EU on April 19 as Kuleba reported on Twitter.

Kuleba noted that the key topic of the discussion was the escalation of the safety situation by Russia.

“EU is behind you”, Josep Borell said expressing support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and invited me to take part in EU Foreign Affairs Council on April 19th,” Kuleba stated.

On March 26, four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine died as a result of shelling by illegal armed groups in the Donetsk region. Two others were injured.

Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak stated that Russia gathers tactical forces from its western and southern regions and brings them close to the Ukrainian border.

On March 31, the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group took place and the escalation in Donbas was discussed. The Ukrainian side offered to provide the observation of a comprehensive and full ceasefire regime in Donbas from April 1; however, Russia refused to support it.
