Ukraine’s Foreign Minister gives EU list of people involved in illegal elections in Crimea

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin during a meeting in Brussels Monday, March 18, handed over to the Foreign Ministers of the European Union a list of 140 people who participated in the organization of illegal presidential elections in the occupied Crimea. This was stated by the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksii Makeiev, reports

"We gave the Europeans a list of more than 140 people involved in holding illegal elections in the Crimea," Makeiev said.  

He also noted that the interest of European ministers to meet with Ukrainian counterpart was significant, and suggested that never before so many people visited the meeting.

As it was reported earlier Pavlo Klimkin said it was important to impose sanctions against those who promote the projects of Putin abroad, particularly Gerhard Schröder, the most important lobbyist of Putin in the world. In light of the rising tension between the western countries and Russia, Klimkin urged to impose the sanctions against Gerhard Schröder, the former Chancellor of Germany. According to the minister, it is important to impose sanctions against those who promote the projects of Putin abroad.

Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine said that Russia will use the result of the presidential election in the information war.  

The election of the president of Russia took place on March 18, 2018, in the fourth anniversary of the illegal annexation of Crimea. Eight candidates, including the current president, took place in it. Russia also held the election at the peninsula.
