Ukraine’s First Channel joins European Broadcasting Union

56 EBU member countries voted for the decision, having noted that company’s paperwork was perfect

The 78th General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Dublin voted for the official membership of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (Ukraine’s First Channel, UA:PBC) in the Union. This was reported by the chief executive officer of the company Zurab Alasania.

"I was pleased to hear high appreciation of the work of Ukrainian public company on joining the EBU. Our training and work with the documents was called perfect, and the unanimous vote of the EBU members once again confirmed: our colleagues - public broadcasters from other countries see the Ukraine’s broadcasting company as a reliable partner" he said.

It is noteworthy that the 78th General Assembly was attended by all official  and associated members of the EBU.

As it was reported earlier EBU fined Ukraine for 200,000 Euro. National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine began the process of appeal for EBU decision.
