The Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus expressed condolences to the families of tourists who died in the accident in Ivano-Frankivsk region. This was reported on the Twitter page of the embassy.

“We express deep condolences to the families and friends of the citizens of Belarus who have died as a result of the accident in Ivano-Frankivsk region,” the message says.

As it was reported earlier, a truck with tourists broke off a cliff about 40 meters high and fell into the Chorny Cheremosh river in Krasnyk village of Ivano-Frankivsk region at 11:43 on May 6. This was reported on the website of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The accident took the lives of three people. In total, there were 24 people in the truck (23 foreign tourists and a driver).

The police found out that a 47-year old driver was driving in a state of alcohol intoxication. He was taken from the hospital to the temporary detention facility.

A group of tourists from Belarus was supposed to go rafting on the river, so it was heading to the destination. The bodies of three dead people were found in the car: a man who was the head of the group, and two women. 16 people survived on their own, and 3 people were saved by rescuers and sent to medical institutions.
