The National Security and Defense Council does not rule out that Russia may resort to "energy terrorism." However, Ukraine is ready for such a scenario, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said so during a briefing.
"If necessary, if the current situation continues, we do not rule out the use of "energy terrorism" by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, appropriate decisions will be made, quickly and harshly in the interests of our country," Danilov said.
On November 2, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus announced that, within the framework of emergency assistance, supplies of electricity to Ukraine had begun. Deliveries are carried out at the request of the Ukrainian side.
The transmission system operator Ukrenergo named the reason for the activation of emergency assistance to Belarus in the power supply is the lack of capacity in the United Energy System of Ukraine in connection with the increased accident rate at the power units of thermal stations.
On November 8, Belarus stated that it refused to supply electricity to Ukraine on the basis of previously concluded framework contracts.
