Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine recognized as lawful the decree of President Petro Poroshenko on Ukrainian citizenship termination of the former Verkhovna Rada deputy Andriy Artemenko. This was announced by the presiding judge of the panel, Igor Olender, https://ukranews.com/ reported.
"To refuse in satisfaction of an administrative claim," he announced.
The court ruled to completely refuse satisfaction of the claim of Artemenko, in particular, refused to declare it illegal and to repeal the presidential decree.
The court considered the case for about 5 months. This decision became the the first among other cases on appeals against Poroshenko's decrees on the termination of Ukrainian citizenship of former officials.
In its turn, the defense of Artemenko intends to appeal the termination of his Ukrainian citizenship in the Supreme Court. His lawyer Leonid Sivakov said this.
"We will certainly appeal to the Supreme Court," he said.
As it was reported earlier MP from the Radical Party Andriy Artemenko developed the concept of making peace between Russia and Ukraine, and the lifting of sanctions from Moscow. His plan was transferred to an adviser of US President Donald Trump, Michael Flynn shortly before his retirement.
He suggested the withdrawal of Russian troops from the east of Ukraine and conducting a nationwide referendum to submit Crimea to Russia for lease by 50 or 100 years.
In addition, Artemenko allegedly provided evidence of corrupt activities of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, which included the names of the companies and the number of bank transfers. In his opinion, this should help to shift Poroshenko from his post and to bring the new government to Kyiv that will be not so hostile towards Russia.
